William Haines Lytle

William Haines Lytle

William Haines Lytle was a brigadier general with the Union Army during the Civil War. Born and raised in Cincinnati, he went to Cincinnati College and was in the state legislature. During the Civil War he was killed at the battle of Chickamauga where an honor guard of Confederate soldiers made sure that his body was unmolested until it could be recovered by the Union.
